There is 16 minutes of footage of the 64 semi-final on YouTube.
The game was played in torrential rain. the optics are not great, but it it is historically one of the most important games In Hammers history.

There are other West Ham highlights on the same 'heavy roller" channel, its a great chance to see some legendary players from the past .
The quality of camera work is not great, but don't forget tv was still in its infancy during the 1950s and early 1960s.

I can remember seeing the Wembley turf for the first time as if it was yesterday.
I was 10 years old and I was shocked that the grass was green as I'd only seen Wembley in black and white off the TV !!!!

I still have the programme HCee and was also at the ECWC and still have that programme and ticket stub best night of my life.
Going back to the Burnley game it's got to be the best game I've ever been to at Upton Park as the atmosphere was unbelievable.

My dad and a few of his mates from Motor Gear (Chadwell Heath) went there. His favourite cloth cap and jacket had been drenched and took days to dry out afterwards.

Ride up to Sheffield on a Lambretta 150, with a mate in the back, claret and blue ribbons and a painted air raid warden rattle; also painted claret and blue.
We got very wet, but rode home, singing bubbles. Lost my voice for a couple of days.

Dad said they had the Kop and we the Leppings Lane, but we were out in force and whilst they were more, we were everywhere, down the side enclosures and when we scored you could see us all over
Proper turn out although could not put numbers to it

Can't be sure on this but I think we had 17,000 upwards of a 65,000 gate.
I do know that we were outnumbered by the Mancs and it got a bit hostile after the match.

Oh, and by the way, those blokes with the trumpets turned up
just a few rows in front of us at Wembley for the final.
Also, the quarter final against Burnley was a great game. That was my first experience of genuine 'cup fever'. The atmosphere was electric that day.

My dad drove me and my brother up there. We were ten and seven respectively. We sat in the new cantilever stand, thank fuck, because at least in there we stayed dry. The weather was shocking all day and the pitch a quagmire. But that didn't stop the lads from outplaying the likes of Law, Best and Charlton.
All these years later the memories are still burned into my mind.
Just behind us were three or four blokes with trumpets, and every now and again they'd burst into a rendition of bubbles. But at 3-1 up they started with a Gene Pitney hit '24 hours from Tulsa', but one of them sang the lyrics "we're only 24 minutes from wembley". As a ten year old I thought that was brilliant, and still do.
Anyway, Bobby had one of his greatest days, if not the best, and it ranks in my top five performances and most memorable game of my life.

The Burnley game was my very first and I have also been trying to find highlights with no joy but I do have the programme.
I listened to the ManU game on the radio and I remember my dad who wasn't interested in football was winding me up that Herd had scored for ManU but it was Hursty for us.
Didn't go the final but was there the following year for the ECWC Final

One of my greatest days ever can remember getting one of the special trains from Stratford Dad Mum me and my brother.
Nobody gave us a chance got soaked to the skin which made it even better than winning the cup against Preston.
That was my favourite West Ham performance followed by the cup winners cup v Dortmund then the 7-0 trouncing of the then mighty Leeds Utd.

I was 11 and went by car with my Dad and the bloke who sat with us in the West Stand. I spent the whole journey there worrying that the game would be called off. We bought towels on the way back to the car afterwards to dry off. My main memory of the game was the sheer relief when the third goal went in.

Poured with rain most of the day. My mate had a woollen overcoat which stank to high heaven on the train home as it warmed up. By the time we reached St. Pancras it had shrunk some six inches.

I've never managed to get highlights of the 6th round game at home to Burnley someone on here worked for the BBC archives and he couldn't find anything either.
It was an unbelievable day at Upton Park official attendance was 36,600 but they reckon there was well over 40,000 in there that day you couldn't even get your fags out of your pocket :-)

The week before this semi we played Man Utd at home and got done 0-2 me and my dad were at this game and we thought we've got no chance against these next week how wrong we were.
The game was nearly called off because the pitch was like a bog.
Happy days.

This was the time when I became a committed West Ham fan, partly because Ronnie Boyce had been taught by my Dad for a while at East Ham Boys' Grammar School. Not unfortunately in how to play football - Dad was a music teacher.
